The Queensland Museum Masterplan represents a strategic shift in science communication, transitioning from passive display to a multidisciplinary, experiential learning model. Arterial steered the comprehensive creative direction—spanning exhibition, interpretive, and multimedia design—to bridge the gap between theoretical STEM concepts and real-world engineering solutions.
The project centres the visitor journey on the "joy of discovery" through the integration of custom digital interactives and collaborative challenges. These elements transform visitors from passive observers into active investigators, encouraging them to apply the language of mathematics and the rigor of engineering to solve complex, real-world problems in real-time.
By harmonizing technical lighting, curated narratives, and bespoke signage, Arterial created a "learn-together" environment that caters to lifelong learners of all ages. This holistic design approach reinforces the museum’s role as a vital hub for critical thinking, empowering the community to recognize their own scientific competencies through immersive, high-impact storytelling.
